_Komplex* is a Glasgow >Southside gallery» showcasing contemporary art + design

Komplex is a gallery for Modern & Contemporary Art and Design in the Southside of  Glasgow, set in the lower level of the former Reid & Sons bakery built in 1909. The space was secured as a workshop and studios by artist and maker Altron lx in 2015. Since then, it has evolved from a dark unused subterranean space, back into a place of creativity and artistic production.

    Gallery Space_01 utilises the korkscrew entrance tunnel of a former bakery, with track lights and hanging system that run the full length of the tunnel.

    Gallery Space_02 has Victorian glazed brickwork throughout, with prism glazed pavement skylights to aid natural light into the room. This space is suitable as a second exhibition space, workshops, small events, and opening nights.

  • Display

    Gallery Space_01 has large unit shelving located at the gallery entrance area, suitable for artwork and shop displays. A gallery hanging system runs the length of the tunnel space, suitable for heavy works to be hung.
    Gallery Space_02 is a blank canvas, a space suitable for large sculptures, table displays, and works to be installed.

  • Events

    Gallery Space_02 is available for short rental periods; hourly, daily, and weekly hire.  Suitable for small events, pop-up businesses, and birthday celebrations.

Komplex is a 5 minute walk from Pollokshields East train station. Alternatively, Queens Park train station is approximately 10 minutes walk from the gallery along the Victoria Road.

The 2, 5, 6, and 7 stop on the Pollockshaws road. The 38, 57, and 59 buses stop on the Victoira Road. Both stops are just a few minutes walk from the gallery. Please contact Scot Rail or First Bus for detailed travel advice.

Cycling is recommended as an alternative mode of transport. Numerous cycle racks are provided in the local vicinity of the gallery. The gallery is conveniently located on the South City Way cycle route.

Visitors are encouraged to use public transport where possible, parking is limited outside the gallery for visitors wishing to travel by car. Although parking can be found locally on Butterbiggins Road and Coplaw Street, both are within a short distance of the gallery.
